Luis Arley Florez is a new face in our program, but coffee is anything but new to him. He grew up working alongside his family on their farm in Vereda La Loma, a lower-elevation corner of Urrao, Antioquia, building his knowledge through years of hands-on experience. Over the past three years Luis has been fully dedicated to his own plots, a hard-earned milestone, and this lot reflects his ongoing commitment to growth and quality.
Grown at 1,600 meters above sea level, this Chiroso lot benefits from the elevation and character of the Urrao valley. The coffee undergoes an initial 36-hour whole-cherry fermentation in closed tanks, followed by 72 hours of open fermentation after depulping, then dried on raised beds for two to three weeks. The result is a coffee that speaks to both the potential of the variety and the care of a producer finding his footing in the best possible way.
