Production Assistant
Job Summary:
A Production Assistant performs daily production tasks in order to manage the effective packaging and delivery of our coffees; produces labels, packs coffee, counts inventory and performs other production related tasks as needed; communicates with Production Manager and Director of Operations to fulfill wholesale, web, and general sales orders.
General Accountabilities:
Duties include but are not limited to*:
Operates coffee packaging machinery meeting all productivity, quality, and accuracy standards established.
Labels empty coffee bags scheduled for production
Package coffee using the scale and clamp sealer.
Performs weekly inventory on all non roasted coffee products ie;filters, scales, bags, mugs, etc.
Grinds coffee as needed, according to production schedules.
Seals and tapes packaged coffees.
Boxes and cartons finished coffee bags or tea boxes per standard operating procedures.
Ensures all packages are delivered to USPS by the end of day, everyday.
Operates all basic material handling and maintenance equipment adhering to company safety guidelines (i.e., ladders, pallet jacks, two-wheel dollies, four-wheeled carts, tape guns, box knives, etc.).
Follows Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines and OSHA Safety standards at all times, such as periodically cleaning areas, using equipment with proper care and caution, etc.
Unloads, loads, and stocks finished product on pallets, shelves and floor racks.
Receives Metric Coffee Company orders.
Cleans the entire production area (wipes down, mops, and sweeps) on a daily basis.
Performs end-of-day completion responsibilities (i.e., general clean-up), count/audit of production sheets/tally sheets, etc.)
Maintains personal hygiene and wears a hair net or hat during production.

Job Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 year of production related experience. Does not need to be coffee related.
Valid Driver’s License: You will be required to drive a company vehicle to drop off mail at USPS daily.
Skills:
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
Excellent verbal and written communication
Working knowledge of using Roaster Tools, Cropster, G-Suite, and Slack
Operation monitoring
Quality control analysis
Critical thinking
